ESU LokSound installation in my Atlas C425
I got a Atlas c420 with sound, it's great. I wanted it in a C425 too.
- Where to put the speaker ... how about the fuel tank ..
- Lucky I have a friend with a small milling machine, we traced out the speaker enclosure, and Scotty went to work.
- Turns out the 23mm speaker is about 1mm to big, ugh
- had to cut the motor mount screw holes in half
- I wacked the speaker enclosure on the sides, and sliced off part of the bottom, angled the speaker, and it fit, used lots of glue to seal it up.
ESU LokSound mini installation in my HO Stewart C628
- Bought a ESU LokSound v3.5 at a swap meeting, finally installed it,
ooppss, its a mini.
- it kept dropping out, ugh
- not sure which mistake caused the problem, but I hooked up the violet wire
where I should of hooked up the blue to a 8-pin plug, (it came with the wrong one)
- one thing that helped was clearing the 1 bit in cv 49, to disable the back emf.
- other settings I changed cv 2 : 50; cv 6 : 33; per the volt meter, it seems to take 1 volt to get the steward motor moving.
- The board fit over the motor nicely.
- I removed part of the clip for the rear LED, and the speaker fit in nicely under
the exhast, which I opened up!
- joy!
- Did another with the HO version of the decoder, and the .63x1.0 speaker
